New England signed Alijah Vera-Tucker away from the Jets knowing his health history, and Musket Fire says the biggest fear has come true.

Vera-Tucker is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury that could sideline him for a good chunk of the season. Before the Thursday game against the Bears, the Patriots added backup Xavier Newman-Johnson, also a former Jet, to the active roster.

It's poor timing: left tackle Will Campbell has been playing through a knee injury, and right tackle Morgan Moses left Week 6 with a foot injury. Rookie Caleb Lomu has looked good filling in.
